How much does this tent weigh?
My bf and I are getting older so we're wondering about how far we can carry it.
Thanks for any reply!
It's really heavy, I'd say about 60 lbs in the bag. We love this tent though.
CARRIES IN 2 SEPERATE BAGS THE POLES ARE HEAVY DUTY AND THERE ARE LOTS OF THEM. THIS IS NOT A TENT YOU WANT TO HIKE WITH. NOW IF YU MEAN CARRY FROM THE CAR TO YOUR SITE YOU WOULD PROB BE FINE BUT STILL VERY HEAVY. THIS IS A HUGE TENT.
I cannot tell you exactly how much this tent weighs because we bought the tent for my parents. They are 67 and 65 years of age and absolutely love the tent. They have never complained about the weight of the tent. I would say too heavy for a back pack trip but great for state park camping. If you'd like more of an exact number I can try to reach my dad another day and get back to you. The tent is great through high wind and rain. It has done extremely well for them over the past 3 years. Very roomy with a tall ceiling makes for comfortable camping.
This tent is not good for carrying any farther than from the car to the camp site. I love the tent and it has served my family very well.
Bought this a few yrs ago. Tent weights about 15 lbs. Poles weigh 35-40. As other owner mentioned, tent & poles are in separate bags. We store the entire tent in the largest duffel bag we could find on amazon on a shelf in the garage. Its definitly not for a backpacking expedition, but works great to go from SUV to campsite. It may be a little large for just the two of you; it'll fit 2 king size airbeds easily and still have room for gear. Only bad part is the zippers will leak a little at the bottom of the door if it rains really hard for a long time. Still a great tent for our family.
The tent itself is only about 15 pounds. The poles are closer to 40 pounds. They come in two bags, tent and poles. The tent is okay for car camping but definitely not made for carrying any sort of distance.
its a pretty heavy tent. It is definitely not something you want to hike with. it is probably around 40lbs. If it is something you will move from a garage/storage, into a vehicle, and then right to the campsite, then you should have no problem. I am so happy with my tent and have had it for about 2 1/2 years now.
