how does the footprint attach to the tent?
DANIEL J L
The footprint is secured using the corner stake loops. It does not attach directly to the tent.
You stake the footprint to the ground. The loops from the tent match up with the loops from the footprint.
It doesn't attach to the tent. You stake it down separately and set the tent on it, which reduces the wear and tear on the bottom of the tent.
The footprint that I purchased has 4 loops, one on each corner. I just lay down the footprint set the tent up on top of the footprint and when I'm ready to stake the tent down I go through both loops the tent loop and the footprint loop.
I think this footprints is smaller than the tent base. I tied a small piece of 550 cord to each corner. That way the footprint will be pulled just tight as the tent when you stake it down.
You put the tent loop down through the footprint loop then stake down the tent and put it up.
I does not attach to the tent. Each corner has a loop of fabric sewn to the corner of the footprint. When I stake down the tent I make sure the peg is through the loop.
There are elastic loops at each corner of the footprint and once you have the tent erected the ends of the poles at each corner fit right inside the elastic loops.
I'LL TAKE THAT AS A 'YES' THAT IT WILL FIT THE 3EXT TENTS AS WELL.
We put the clips of the fly to the tent through the loops that are located at each corner. We love this tent and foot print! We have have done several long distance and weekend trips and have no problems. We actually bought an extra footprint because it is so lightweight to use as an extra tarp.
You guys are good. This is the 3rd answer to that question this morning. Talk about thourough! :)
Can you answer me this? I have several Eureka Mountain Pass 3XTE tents for my Boy Scout Troop. Those tents seem to have the same floor size as the Scenic Pass 3XT('A'... isnt it?). Is there any reason this footprint wouldnt work for my 3XTE's. I would want to buy 10.
It has four loop straps that can be staked making it possible to set up the tent on top.
The floor size ot the Scenic Pass 3XTA (it is with an 'A'... correct?) is the same as the Mountain Pass 3XTE. is there any reason this footprint wouldnt fit that tent also??
I don't know. My tent is the Scenic Pass 3XT and the footprint fits perfectly. The floor pattern of the tent and the footprint are rectangular shaped.
Put your ground stakes thru the eyelets of the footprint as well as the tents
