I just recently bought this jacket (Columbia Erudite II) and was wondering just how warm it is in winter. I live in New England where winters can get quite cold. Is this a early winter/ late Winter jacket or can it be expected to be worn all of winter?
I live in Seattle and really enjoy my jacket. It keeps me dry with our rain. The hood is great for keeping my head dry and helps cut the wind. We can get as cold as 30 degrees in the winter and this jacket is great for keeping me warm. Your temp is probably colder but i think it will work.
Thanks SHAOHUA. From other answers I am getting it appears you are correct but thanks for your reply as support.
Anything below freezing temperatures and i wear another zip up hoodie under the coat. This seems to work very well.
Thanks Nicholas. I took it out side again today 28 with a wind chill lower than that and it felt cool as bought. So I guess another layer is necessary like you said. Not sure if its a keeper or it will go back to store at this point.
it is early winter jacket,
I believe it depends on the individual. I am a smaller build at 140 lbs but do not get cold supet easy.
I live in the midwest and temperatures have been hovering around 0 degrees alot but the jacket works for me. I also wore it in Colorado for a ski trip.
Picture makes it look more grey but it is black.
Thanks for your reply. I just wore the jacket outside in 28 degree temp with a sweat shirt underneath it and I didn't feel all that warm. So, I guess it does depend on the individual. I have a very old Columbia (poly fill) and it seems warmer than the Erudite did tonight. I have several other Columbia products shoes, rain jackets etc but was surprised how cool I felt in this.
