Comments about Coleman WeatherMaster Screen 6, 17 x 9 Family Tent:

My family and I really enjoy this tent. Hubby and I have two girls - 2 years and 4 years old. The best feature is the hinge door. I can set this tent up by myself ( I am 5' 4" 130# ... not the strongest girl in the world) but it does take a bit of doing without an extra hand because the tent is not free standing. This isn't necessarily a flaw ... I think just a design requirement because of the screened-in porch. We camp a LOT and are thinking about getting the smaller Coleman Elite Sundome 6 for a slightly quicker set-up for those one-night trips. But this is absolutely the best and will be the tent we take with us for any trip 2 nights or longer! I can see it working wonderfully with the added space the porch provides in buggy or rainy conditions. When the littlest was smaller this past summer, a queen size air mattress, toddler mattress and pack in play fit nicely. We are thinking that for this summer we will just have the mattress for us, but I imagine another toddler mattress would fit fine. Very roomy, spacious, and simple.

Comments about Coleman WeatherMaster Screen 6, 17 x 9 Family Tent:

Pros: I shopped for a while for a tent and am very glad I chose this one. It does seem to take 2 people to set up but the set up is FAST and EASY. The first time used was over 10K ft in the mountains of Colorado, it rained, wind was soaring and snowed the next day. The tent held up suprisingly in the heavy winds and kept dry as a bone! There was no condensation and that is my biggest thing about tents...hate condensation. The door on the tent is extremely awesome as well. No zip and unzipping constantly for it has an option of zipping or velcro that holds it closed...even in high wind.

Cons: It comes in a 6-person but really it is a 4-person comfortable sleeping tent. It does need a few modifications. The screen closure door that leads into the sleeping area is not secure at the bottom. I am simply going to affix a few strips of velcro to keep it closed. Also it would have been nice to have screen covers for the screened walls. I am actually going to make my own with an old tent and velcro them to fit nicely. With heavy duty velcro instead of sewing, you can cover over the screens or not. It can also then be used as an additional sleeping and private room...there is no floor in the screened room but a larger tarp footprint can be extended there for the floor.

I am very picky about the stuff I buy and try to get my money's worth...this tent is worth the money and does not leak at all. I decided to seal the seams anyway but it held up without the sealant.
