I'm thinking about getting this to wear in a very hot humid climate. Do you think it would make me sweat more, being against my back?
Sandy C I bought this Camelbak in 2009, and it can get pretty humid where I live. I fill the bladder with ice water, so it actually has a cooling effect for me. Yes, my shirt will be damp in the area of the bag when I take it off, but it isn't bad. The benefits to having a hands-free hydration system like this outweigh a little extra dampness, in my opinion. I've been very satisfied with this product.
WILLIAM W Well, it will hold more heat then not wearing anything. It has a nice mesh on it to minimize skin or clothing contact. I would say the benefit to having a hands free water source would out way any additional sweat it caused.
SCOTT M no usually it will cool your back a little if you put ice cold water in the bladder.
TERESA O It is kind of warm, but I like the fact that I can drink any time I want. It's not as hot as wearing a large pack.
KEITH T Heather,
There is a webbing layered on the area that makes contact with the body which provides sufficient airflow.
Hope this helps,
