Black Diamond's most affordable elliptic pole, the Contour Elliptic Trekking Pole is equally adept on snow, dirt, rock, and any other trail surface that you will encounter. Its elliptic shafts are designed to provide added strength and stability, while its dual-density grip top and 360-degree padded webbing strap provides a comfortable grip and support to the wrists. Another feature worthy of being highlighted is its double FlickLock adjustments that allow total customization depending on the incline, trail, and terrain conditions. The pole also features interchangeable carbide Tech Tips, which can easily be switched out for Black Diamond's rubber Tech Tips (sold separately) for changing trail surfaces. With a demand for precision, durability and lightweight stability, the Black Diamond Contour Elliptic trekking poles provides the regular backpacker, mountaineer, trekker, and hiker the swing and stability they need to have an enjoyable trek.

    May be not the best version of trekking poles, but definitely very good for it's price! I use it for hiking and backpacking and I was never disappointed about these poles.
    So... I've bought it, I use it, I like it! :-)

      Over the years I've owned several models that didn't have ellipitical shafts. I prefer the stifness and strength of the ellipitical shafts. They also seem to transfer much less of the shock and vibration through the shaft when you plant it. The flicklocks are quicker and easier to adjust than the locking mechanisms that require constant twisting and turning.
