Comments about Black Diamond Contour Elliptic Poles (pair):

I did a lot of research nd ended up buying these poles. The poles have a unique shape that make them very stable and do not flex but still are very light weight. I just did a 35 mile hike in two days with a 42lb pack and these poles were solid and saved me many times. Easy to adjust, light weight, great ergonomic grips, no blisters and no flex so you feel stable. I would highly recommend and also strongly suggest getting the rubber tips with them as well. Only downside is straps loosened easily when descending but can be taped.

Comments about Black Diamond Contour Elliptic Poles (pair):

Be careful packing these in your pack when traveling; care should be taken to avoid damaging the foam grips.
Recommend spending the extra $5 on the rubber tips--great for ease of packing (won't put a hole in your pack), and for use on concrete or granite/hard rock surfaces as you would encounter in Yosemite or on Mt. Washington.

Comments about Black Diamond Contour Elliptic Poles (pair):

Would have given 5 stars if they were just a little lighter still.

Also, would have liked it if they came with the rubber tips (for paved roads, etc) as standard.

Comments about Black Diamond Contour Elliptic Poles (pair):

Great for travel. My Leki poles wouldn't collapse far enough to fit into my expedition duffel bags, so they had to be duct taped to the straps on the outside. I wound up giving them away before I returned home from India. The cam locks are so much nicer than the twist locks on the Leki poles. Very happy with these.
