I used them a couple times where there was a trail in a variety of conditions. From packed down heavily used to nobody has been here before. Used in moderate deep snow. They worked well in all conditions so far and provided a little better stability on a semi packed trail so you don't fall into the 'foot' ruts others have left. I did not use poles and in some of place I went poles would have been in the way. It allowed me to go anywhere within the forest and get away from the busy main t...rail.
I love these snowshoes!! Knew I needed to switch from my old-school Iversons, and it has made all the difference!!

Featured Technology
Fit-Step Frame The innovative and biomechanical aluminum Fit-Step frame, designed with a slightly upturned, rounded tail, reduces muscular skeletal impact on hip, knee and ankle joints by 10%.
Rotating Toe Cord - Rotation Limiter Rotating Toe Cord design enables the tail of the snowshoe to drop and snow to shed off the tail, reducing cardio-respiratory strain by 7%. The underfoot pivot point also allows the toe traction teeth to bite deeply into the snow when weighted. Arotation limiter prevents over-rotation and shin bang.
180 Pro Binding Our most robust 180 Series binding, the gender-specific 180Pro features extended rigid Control Wings, a locking heel strap and a contoured, padded upper for pressure-free comfort and added warmth.
Cobra Crampon The carbon steel Cobra toe crampon, located under the ball of the foot provides constant penetrating contact in variable snow conditions. Jagged tooth construction improves grip on packed snow and ice.

Are the width on the Wilderness 25" and the 21" the same at the top of the snowshoe?
TERESA B
No

The 25" Tubbs Wilderness is 8 1/4" wide. My wife who is 5'8" enjoys them. Not sure of the 21" Tubbs' width, likely a 7 - 7 1/4" width.

Not sure what size to order... when weight do you recommend for 21"?
MELISSA R
I ordered the 30" because I weighed at the time 215 and am 5'6". They were WAY to big - both long and wide. I could not walk comfortably. So consider your height as well. I would think the 21" are good for any height and probably up to 150 lbs.

i wear a size 8 shoe. so my snowshoe boot is an 8 1/2 to allow for a warmer sock. i weigh 138lbs.i am 5'2''. i wanted a snowshoe that was not heavy or to large and cumbersome. this snowshoe was perfect.i have never showshoed before. my practice run lasted an hour in about a foot of new snow.the size was perfect.i made my own trails and the snowshoe was great. i did have to get used to walking and not hitting my snowshoes together the first five minutes but once i got going i had so much fun. its a great workout. i went up hills and they gripped good and i didn't slide. they were great on ice also. hope this helps you out. one thing i did have to adjust was not having my shoe to far up in the snowshoe. i found one shoe hitting the front frame a little which made a rubbing noise that drove me nuts till i unhooked the showshoe and readjusted my shoe farther back so as not to touch. hope this answers your question.

Well, with a loaded pack, my GF weighs about 190lbs. She has no problem in any condition.
