Don't know about the previous reviewer, but at 5'10", 21.5" thighs (each, mid-thigh measurement), M fits me just tight enough.
They weren't too warm under a softshell pant during a November hike (0..+10C), they are sufficiently warm for casual use (not hours on end, though) under the same softshell pants now in December, with temperatures at -30C and below.
My only nag is they could use a little more stretch (length-wise) so the waist would stay put when you sit down.
At Sunnysports price, it's a great cold weather garment.

Too thick and too baggy. This is not form fitting so it will bunch up under your pants. The material is very warm but fit sucks for me. I'm 6' 160lbs.
