new gloves, used before washing, leave hands dry and with a rash. After several uses problem solved. Is there some chemical in the glove that causes this condition or is this strictly my problem? As noted, have been using these gloves for years, like them, and for years have had the same problem. Just wondering.

They are not waterproof, they are made from a fast-drying material similar to wet suits. They are also finger-less so your fingers would be exposed to the water.
