Questions about this item:

BEVERLY B  I am looking for a bag that will hold my personal clothing and towel plus a camera and pass port. I can put these things into ziploc bags within the larger bag. I want to use it to go snorkeling and have it be attached to my person so I don't leave anything on the shore. Can you tell me if this bag would work?
JEFFREY Y  I believe the bags are rated for submersion at 6ft for 30 minutes. If you're snorkeling on the surface, you should be fine. The bag will be filled with air as well which will keep it floating on the surface of the water. Keeping the more sensitive items such as passport and camera in plastic ziploc bags will give you an extra level of protection, but you should be fine with just the dry bag.
MICHAEL B  Yes, as long as you do not overload it. It is important to properly close/seal it.
NICHOLAS H  They can work - roll them down farther the standard two times. The more you roll the more waterproof they are. With a bag big enough to hold everything you describe you'll have a lot of float. You may want a tether/string so you can dive underwater... or just leave the bag floating at the surface untethered if it's not too windy.
DEAN L  if you get the right size it should work. I recommend not submerging the bag. you should leave it floating on a weighted line.
BEVERLY B  Can I have it connected to me? I don't go any farther than the surface.
DEAN L  certainly, use a 6-10 foot line. if you stay somewhat in the same area, you can bring a 30 foot line with a weight on one end and let the bag float in one area. the bag should keep your things dry in either case as long as you roll it enough times.
DAVID K  I think it would work well for that. The plastic is a bit stiff, so you might want to take that into account, but it sounds like you could make it work.
SIMON J  A Ziplock bag will leak water. This bag if properly closed according to the instructions will be much more reliable.
BEVERLY B  Will it float? Is there something I can do to make sure it floats? What can I do to connect it to me? Thanks fo much! Bev
JEFF M  BB, I used the bags I bought on a river trip and they were never submerged the way you are intending to use them. I would check with SealLine, but I do not think that they are waterproof for long periods of submergence.
JON E  That's basically what it was created for! make sure you get one large enough to fit everything and still have room to seal up
GUY M  I haven't used my SealLine dry bags for such a purpose, i.e. sustained underwater use. However, they have been absolutely satisfactory for my purposes, which is to store gear in an open boat while canoeing and keeping things dry back at camp.
Shopper  How big is 55L? What are the dimentions? I am looking for something with a 27" diameter and 48" long. Does the 55L Sea Line bag qualify?
SunnySports S  55L translates into roughly 3310 cu. in . The dimensions are (w x h) 13" x 25". So I do not think this qualifies for what you are looking for. Stay safe and have fun out there! Neal
