Questions about this item:

bruce b  i want to fine my properly line which compass do i need ?
Jessica S  The Ranger CLQ Compass can be used to find the property line. Please be advised that the CLQ compass has 4 quadrants that are 1-90 degrees.
Shopper  IS THIS A 0-360 COMPASS?
DOUGLAS B  No it goes 0-90 and then repeats 0-90 in each direction
Shopper  What is the difference between the Silva Ranger Models CL and CLQ ?
LAWRENCE S  The Ranger CL has a couple additional features that the CLQ doesn't have - a little magnifying area for one. I chose the CLQ because it is a cleaner looking compass that I am used to using. The layout is pretty simple and the scales are easy to understand and use. Both of the compasses are SILVA so either one is a good buy.
LARA P  Use Google: " Azimuth vs. quadrant compass Some compasses have degrees marked on the dial in quadrants. North is 0 degrees, East is 90 degrees South is 0 degrees and West is 90 degrees. So, a direction of southwest would be read as South-45 degrees-west. The quadrant method, in my opinion, is unnecessarily cumbersome. The same direction on a compass with degrees in azimuth (0 at north, 90 at east, 180 at south, 270 at west, and 360 back at north) is simply a three digit number—225 degrees. So, unless you have some reason for stepping into the past, make sure your compass is not a quadrant compass by carefully inspecting the numbers on the dial. Manufacturers usually specify the method used in their sales materials and often even in the model name. For example, the 515 CL is the azimuth version and the 515 CLQ is the quadrant version of the Silva Ranger, and the 15TDCLQ is Brunton’s quadrant version of the 15TDCL."
DOUGLAS B  One compass is a Quadrant compass (CLQ I believe) so instead of going from 1- 360 degrees, it goes from 1-90, then 1-90 again, again and again. I wish I hadn’t bought that one. I prefer the 1-360 normal compass. Not sure what the use for the Quadrant compass is?
