Comments about Stanley Outdoor 16 oz. Mug with Clip Grip:
Needing to unscrew the lid for each sip turned out to be more inconvenient than I had anticipated. It's great if you're doing something that could get the top of it dirty (blowing dirt, flying ashes, etc..) so you don't get a gritty sip. The lid won't drip if you tighten it properly, so attaching it to a pack with the carabiner-style handle is doable. You have to be sure to leave enough space at the top so you don't overflow the contents when securing the lid - it's not marked - but with the top threads being on the inside of the mug, the lid can be removed without dripping all over and without the contents getting into the seal and dripping down the mug when you put it back on.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This is a great product. It has good solid steel construction. The main thing I would change is the fact that you have to remove (unscrew) the lid to access the contents. This also means the lid must be kept close as not to lose it. This is, however, a sturdy mug for drink or food that can clip to your gear.
