Our Trident embodies the spirit of ourmost capable Special Forces unit; the Navy SEALs. The SOG Trident is based on the Trident that helped found the SOG Company, but morphed into a top-notch workknife with the use of technology, modern materials, and a little class thrown infor good measure. For starters all the metal parts and including the blade, cross guard and pommel are satin finished stainless steel. It looks incredible! The stacked Micarta washer handle nods to tradition with the use of interspaced white washers and provides an unmistakable SOG look. SOG's unique cryogenic heat treatment processes increases the toughness and wear resistance of our blades by taking the knife slowly down in temperature to less than -300°F and then back to room temperature. This stress relieves the materialon an atomic level and increases overall strength as well as edge retention. Knife edges stay sharp longer with significantly less micro-fracturing and edge-chipping. The thick (.240") AUS 8 blade is topped off with a faceted tip that is a SOG signature and completes the total package.
