DESCRIPTION
This no-see-um bivy provides complete insect protection through the night. A single pole holds the mesh away from your face, keeping the bugs at a distance. The zipper opening seals mosquitoes and other small insects out. A waterproof floor keeps moist ground from soaking through your bag as you sleep.

Machine wash cold in powder detergent. Drip dry. Or simply wipe with a damp sponge and hang to dry. Always be certain the sack is completely dry before storing it in the stuff sack for any length of time. Mildew will grow on the bivy if it is stored wet.

Comments about Outdoor Research Bug Bivy:

This bug bivy is nice for summertime backpacking trips into buggy areas. It keeps out all manner of insects, including flying and ants. It does not come with a guyline for the support pole, which you will need to keep it from fallng on your face at night. It also does not come with three stakes, although there are loops for them. In a windy area, you will need those also. It is reasonably roomy for a bivy. I'm 6'3", 210 pounds and fit inside with a little room to spare. All and all, recommended purchase.

Comments about Outdoor Research Bug Bivy:

Great piece of gear for light weight back packing. Waterproof ground layer, bug protection and great ventilation for tarp tenting, pad securing straps and even a little zippered compartement for night-time essentials. Zippers work smoothly and overall finish is very good. Buy it.

Comments about Outdoor Research Bug Bivy:

I'm in the Army stationed in GA where the bugs/nats are horrible, plus it's always humid. I was looking into solo tents for the field until I came across this bivy and thought "it's perfect!". It's low-profile and allows me to sleep in just shorts, feeling the breeze (if any) and not get eaten. I've used it a handful of times and it has held up so far. No broken zippers or stitching. I'm 5'7 160lbs and have plenty of room all around, which is a must because I toss/turn a lot.

I did buy some tent stakes to keep it taught on the ground, there's a few loops at the head and foot to stake it. It can be a pain crawling in and out of because it's so low profile, but still very worth it. I do wish they added another sleeve for a tent pole near the foot of the bivy to keep it completely off of me, but overall it's another great OR product.

Comments about Outdoor Research Bug Bivy:

Back packing in high desert. This item was great, light weight, easy to set up and use. I was able to see the stars and not worry about bugs and little critters spending the night with me. I would highly recommentd, but be sure to buy at 3 light weight stakes to secure your bivy as they are not included.
