Comments about The North Face Minibus 2 Three-season tent:

The tent fully packaged weighs in at 6.5 pounds on my accurate bicycle scale. The V pegs that come with it work well, but I've added a few longer pegs for those times when the soil is too loose at the top. The pitch is taught enough so the door zippers can be used one-handed, which surprised me. And the glowing zipper tabs REALLY work. I mean they work all night. The windows on mine (the clear ones in the fly) were all cloudy when delivered - I had to polish them up so they'd be useful. The stash pockets all around the tent are fantastic. The Gear loft is a somewhat generic one, in that one size fits a bunch of their tents. It works fine, but needs to be cinched up 100% on each strap - leaving a foot or more of strap end dangling down at each corner. I have not seen a better made gear loft though!

The setup is very easy. The little clips that hold the spreader bars is genius! My only hint to fit it into the bag after take-down is to fold the tent in half length-wise before rolling. All my other tents have wanted to be folded in thirds for some reason, but with this tent, the burrito becomes too fat to fit back into the stuff sack (which is a nice sack, btw!)

It is slick how the poles are mildly pre-bent to allow for straight-up sides of the tent, instead of more dome-like with most other tents that use straight poles.

My ONLY wish is that the whole thing could be lighter still. But for comfort and durability in a light-weight package, the compromise is very well executed.

Something in all my other tents screams "cheap!". I haven't found a single item on this tent that doesn't scream "high quality." I love it.

Sunny Sports not only had the best price, but also had the footprint and gear loft in stock - something I had trouble finding elsewhere.
