DESCRIPTION
Now even more durable thanks to new Torsion2 crampons, MSR's most aggressive snowshoes are built on a solid foundation of their advanced 360° Traction frames and deliver a level of ultralight security that tubular frames simply can't especially on traverses. Dual-component PosiLock AT bindings offer MSR's most secure attachment, while aggressive steel cross members and easily engaged Ergo Televators back you up with every step. And like all of MSR's snowshoes, Lightning Ascents offer the all-condition adaptability of the Modular Flotation tails.

This product can only be shipped to U.S. addresses.

FEATURES
  • Unrivaled Traction: 360° Traction frames deliver edge-to-edge grip, and split teeth of Torsion2 crampons better distribute forces and offer more continuous contact delivering unmatched traction on any terrain, in any conditions.
  • Secure Attachment: Two-piece, independently conforming PosiLock AT bindings create our most secure, freeze-resistant attachment, regardless of footwear.
  • All-Condition Adaptability: Add-on Modular Flotation tails allow you the maneuverability of a smaller, primary snowshoe with the added, on-demand flotation of optional, 5-inch (13-cm) tails.
  • Uphill Efficiency: Ergo Televators reduce fatigue and increase traction on the steeps with an ergonomic design that engages with a simply flick of a pole grip.

Comments about MSR Lightning Ascent Snowshoe (pair):

The first place I used them was the Belknap Range in NH, I went from Gunstock Mountain parking lot to Mt. Major parking lot. (7 mountains)
I wore Koflach Arctis Expe Plastic Boots size 11, they stayed secure all day.
The second time I used the MSR's was on two different mountains in the Belknap range but I wore my Nepal EVO GTX Mountaineering Boots, secure all day too.
There was a couple sections that allowed me to try out the heel lift and traction, the heel lift is a big plus in the steep terrain and the traction was very good. One section had me wishing I brought my Crampons, though it wasn't steep and icy for long it made me appreciate the traction the MSR's had. I originally wanted these because my Easton Hike snowshoes were to big for the trails in the White Mountains and the traction was not made for steep terrain.
