Comments about Mountain Hardwear Dome Perignon Cap for Men - Discontinued Model Clearance Sale:

I use this hat when it gets below 40 degrees and windy. It works very well to keep the cold and wind out.It is definitely windproof. It has the ear band that I like, and it really helps to keep the hat on my shaved head. I have a problem with some hats sliding off because they have nothing to grab a hold of to stay on. My only problem with this hat is the shape. If it gets a little loose on top I looks like you have cone head. Even with that cosmetic complaint I would still buy this hat again. Mountain Hardwear makes the best hats for my head that I have found and I have tried many different brands. Sunny sports has great prices and really awesome sales.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Dome Perignon Cap for Men - Discontinued Model Clearance Sale:

the size is not very consistent. I bought 2 of these, same size from 2 different sellers: sunnysports and backcountry. Turns out the one from sunnysports is a little bigger, still fit though.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Dome Perignon Cap for Men - Discontinued Model Clearance Sale:

      I love this hat!
I've read other comments that it's a little funny looking with the pointy headed thing going on. However, after wearing it once it became quickly apparent to me that this was not an arbitrary design feature but has a very utilitarian purpose. That extra room at the top allows you to really torque it down low around the back of your neck and ears in windy conditions. That is to say, when you do pull it down in this manner the top of your head has someplace to go and you're not just stretching the material of the hat downward. Besides, if you're that worried about your appearance when miles from nowhere perhaps you should find another pastime or seek therapy.
This thing is great for sleeping in as well. I found that if you wear it backwards when in your sleeping bag it covers your eyes nicely keeping more of your face warm on frigid nights. Try it and thank me later.
I've also used it with a thin, base layer weight, balaclava in very cold, windy conditions and found this to be a great combination. I even used the "point" of the hat to store said balaclava when not needed.
The hat proved to be very windproof as advertised. The only drawback of this, as others have noted, is that it does impede your hearing somewhat but this is a very minor complaint and trade off for it being windproof.
Buy one now! You won't regret it.
