Comments about Kelty Avocet 30 Pack:
I own multiple Kelty packs, I use one for work everyday. The quality of their packs is great, it will last.I find for long day hikes using since sacks to organize your gear within the pack works best since this is a top loading pack. I went on a 18 mile hike just yesterday with this pack loaded up to about 28-30lbs. Felt great and was never a issue. Held extra cold weather clothing, food, water bladder, fire (multiple) starting gear. Easy on and off and locked down onto my body tight. Again I love this pack. Don't hesitate if you want a good daypack that could easily do a weekend hike if you packed smart.Thumbs up all around to Kelty and sunnysports. All my packs come from Sunny and more than likely always will. Thanks for a great experience.Shawn P

Pretty small.

Remember those little black backpack purses from the 90's? That's what it fit like on me. I am 6-04 and 240 pounds. This pack is not for a big guy. It had little or no adjustment. I doubt I could have even gotten it on wearing winter clothes. However… As advertised it was light, basic, and no frills. If you are small or average framed and looking for a basic bag for day hiking or short duration trips, this may be the bag for you. I wouldn't recommend it to a bushwhacker or hunter. Not enough tie on points for external gear like axes, auxiliary bags (sleeping bags/mats) etc. The suspension and stitching looked acceptable for a light load (as it was intended for) but I wouldn't overload it. It's a very good pack for the niche market it was designed for – day hiking or extreme minimalist short duration trips.
