Comments about Black Diamond Trekking Pole Tip Protectors (pair):
I bought these Black Diamond Trekking Pole tip protectors to save wear and tear on the pole tips when doing Nordic Walking on pavement in the city. It is also good for added grip, noise reduction and terrain scarring reduction on flat trails. The great deal and customer service at SS made this a no brainer.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I used on a recent Grand Canyon Rim 2 Rim, and in training. If you own Black Diamond poles, then only BD protectors fit, and you WILL want them. Thank goodness they are inexpensive compared to their european rivals! These tips need a drop of flexible adhesive when you put them on your poles. Then they stay on, even if you go off trail. Otherwise, mine come off and disappear.

Do not fit BD First Strike Trekking Pole
from Sioux City, SD
In case you were thinking of getting these Tip Protectors for First Strike Trekking Poles, be aware they are slightly too big so don't actually fit. Customer Support at Black Diamond was really good, with a very quick response, and they informed me: "Tip Protectors only fit adult or regular Black Diamond trekking poles. They do not fit Black Diamond First Strike Trekking Poles as they have a different tip design". I measured them and the First Strike pole tips have a diameter of 11/32" and the inside diameter of these tip protectors is 13/32". A quick easy fix to make them fit is 6 times around with some electrical tape, so I didn't return them as this was my only option and in the end wasn't such a big deal after all. Better to have them with this modification than to not have them at all. I gave this a 1 star based on the fact this review was a warning only about tip protectors. I however give the poles themselves and these tip protectors a 5 star for quality.

Bought these when I bought my trekking poles. I like that they give me more traction and are quieter than a bare pole end. Not sure how long they'll last but would rather have them than not.
