i was buried in an avalanche in AK a few years ago. Didn't have my Avalung on - 1st generation vest style. It was too cumbersome with all the other gear I had to carry as a guide. I survived thanks to quick work of fellow guide Alex Eaton and good luck. You can't always count on either of those. There is NO QUESTION - I had ample opportunity to get the mouth piece in my mouth. This sling style design is easy to use and comfortable. Who will miss you if you don't make it back tonight? The Avalung is cheap insurance.
