Shopper Is it possible to wear the pack in front without having the strap on my left shoulder? I injured it and can't support the weight of the pack.
TIMOTHY H The atom is designed to be worn on the right shoulder resting on your back. It flips around to have front access without removing. Really neat design. Also has a strap I secure at waist if wanting to bike with pack or jus secure more-though that is optional. To get into pack you simply place over the head with left arm through-this way it sits on rigt shoulder. No weight on left. I love this pack for day hikes or just to carry hands free with easy access. It is my camping-outdoor-vacation purse.
KARLI S This pack only rides on the right shoulder. When you slide it to the front, it just slips around your body, staying on the right shoulder. This pack should work wonderfully for you if you can't bear weight on your left shoulder!
JESSE G The sling is designed to hang over the right shoulder, not the left. It can easily be spun to the front of your body, but it's designed for the back.
KELLY W The strap is easily interchangeable from left to right shoulder - just a matter of switching the strap through the connector
KELLY W This pack can be worn on either shoulder the strap has a connector that you just move the strap through the other way to wear it on the right shoulder. But yes you could wear it in front also. I just tried it on that way to see.
I do really like this pack for just a small hike or out and about for the day.
KENNETH B Definitely. The pack is designed with the intention that the single strap is worn over the right shoulder. the pack is then easily rotated from back to front.which places the zippers on "top" of the pack for easy access to the interior. While small and lightweight, I have found it to be sturdy and functional. I would not call it a day pack but it's perfect for half day hikes, etc. I use it primarily for birding hikes. It carries my binoculars and field guide, a small water bottle and a snack comfortably.
MARGARET B I never wear this bag on the front for long periods, but I do wear it on my right shoulder and then pull it to the front when I need something out of it and it's perfectly comfortable- it hangs sideways with the zippers facing up if it's on your right shoulder and pulled around to the front. But it might not be easy to stabilize that way for long periods.
ROBIN F This pack goes across your right shoulder, as shown in the photo
