How sturdy is the clip? I've had a lot of these type of things break when getting snagged on stuff.

I have it epoxied to my hat brim for fishing. While not wearing the hat it has been snagged and has proven to be strong.

This is a great little light. The changeable clips are not brittle plastic, the material is similar to what's used on the plastic side-release buckles on most outdoor gear, these lights are tough. The design of the light helps keep it from snagging, I have one hanging on my purse strap and have not had it catch on anything. The other clip works well on the brim of your cap and even adjusts up/down. I bought several for Christmas gifts last year. Everybody loved 'em. I've got several stashed around the house, patio, and truck and use them all the time.

Our experience is that the design is very good at not getting snagged when hanging off the outside a purse.

I've owned this for over a year now, and the clip is still solid. This has a very durable construction (unless they dramatically changed the design recently), I've taken it mountaineering, snowboarding, hiking, etc... and it keeps on ticking. Well worth the few dollars you pay for it.

The clip is sturdy enough to be clipped to a key ring. It's not as strong as a carabiner. I use mine attached to my stethoscope and it's held up well.

I have owned many of these lights over the years, using them for camping/hiking, and I carry one daily that I use several times a day. I have never had a problem with the clip, and upon inspection it seems to be well made. I only use the clip to put the light on a key ring occassionally. Normally I use it more as a handle or hold the light in my mouth by biting on the clip. I love these lights!! I do replace batteries every month or two, but I use the light alot. I have had a couple of the lights give me problems after heavy use, but Princeton has a great warranty and excellent customer service.

We keep ours on key rings and have never had any issues with the clip. If there may be any weak point, it would be the exposed LED dome, but we haven't had any issues of any sort in nearly 2 years and they always operate as expected.
We also have Impulses attached to the overhead visor on our vehicles using the included "slide-on" clip and we appreciate the ability to angle the light directly where it's needed to see at night. It's much better than the vehicle's overhead lighting.
As with all the PT headlamps we have, the Impulse is of impressive quality at a very low price point...a great value for sure! I hope this helps!

I have purchased several carabiner clips that I have regretted the purchase but this one does not fall into that category. For me the key to the clip is how much spring does it have. A cheep clip has very little force when closing so it opens up easily or breaks. The spring on this clip is good and tight so I have not had any problems with it. Hope this helps.

The carabiner clip is sturdy, but it is made to be interchangeable with a flat clip module (included), so they snap on and off. If you know which module you want to use all the time, then a spot of glue makes it permanent.
I do handyman work and computer repair, and I use the flat clip and clip it on my wrist-watch band so it is always handy.
This is the best utility light I have ever used, and I go through about 6 per year.
I replace them when the batteries die because a new light is cheaper than the 2 replacement batteries. So do yourself a favor and buy 6 or so at a time to reduce shipping.

I use it on a regular backpack, not any kind of camping gear, ut the shape/center of gravity has any kind of tension on the solid molded plastic and not on the metal clip.
Have not had any problems/scares.

I have had no problems with any portion of the Tec Impulse Keylight. I keep a Leatherman Micra connected to the Keylight clip with a 0.9 inch stainless key ring. I have had several different models of the Tec Keylight, & the Impulse is by far the sturdious & most dependable model. I would NOT buy the keylight, where the light is controlled by squeezing the sides of the light or where the light is controlled by a tiny sliding switch. The light is weak, & the keylight is much less sturdy. My biggest problem is to keep reminding my little grand kids to NOT shine the light into people's eyes, as the light is very bright.

I have been using this light around the house for 3 years and it is very sturdy overall. I actually washed the light while in a pair of shorts in hot water and fully dried my clothes with the light still in the pocket. I let it air dry to be sure and the light still worked. The clip seems okay but I keep my light in a drawer. I only had to change the batteries once about a year ago.

The clip is pretty sturdy in my opinion, I think it would take a little effort to break it. The light, however, can pop out of the clip relatively easily (like if you sit on it), and the clip & light combo is a bit bulky for a keychain (what I originally got it for).
