This item was used to add a seperate water supply to a Platypus gravity filtration system. By removing the screw cap and relacing it with the male end of the Platypus qick disconnect it can be installed after the filter to the female half of th"QD" which also serves as a shut off. The female end of the "QD" is attached to the line via plastic y.

Linda T  my neice is a quadriplegic...we are currently trying to come up with ideas where she can more independently drink...will this sort of system work on a liter drink bottle or cup? thanks
BENJAMIN H  This tube is designed to connect to a Platypus water bladder. Once connected, it acts much like a straw, in that you will bite the nozzle to allow water to flow, and then suck like a straw. However, the tube is flexible, and would probably move away from one's mouth once you stop biting on it. All that to say, this tube will not work except with a Platypus bladder, and may move around too much to help in your situation.
