Shopper can you help me with size? I am 6 ft. and my torso length from middle of my neck to waiste is about 21 1/2 inches. chest size 38. I plan to use this over a light puffy.
WILLIAM K I'm 6'. 25" torso length (measured in back from mid-neck to belt). 42" chest. I can wear the lg OR Revel over my lg OR Neoplume (light puffy), fits over it very well, bottom of the Revel barely covers the bottom of the Neoplume.
ARI S I am 5'10" and weigh about 225. XL worked perfectly for me. This jacket is one of the few in it's class that has huge inside pockets. ( A must for travel )
SARA E I'm 6'2" and my chest is 46' and I purchased the Xlarge. It fit fine over my down jacket, just be forewarned that this is not a completely waterproof jacket. You can see that it has a storm flap and the zippers are not all waterproof zippers.
The OR Helium jacket is lighter and gives you just as much protection if not more.
KEVIN C I am 6'1'' 180 pounds and i found the large fits me fine. The jacket , in my opinion, has a more streamlined cut, but i have enough room for any of my wool sweaters underneath. Two features i really like are full side zippers and long arm length. Overall, I'm very pleased with the quality of this jacket and would highly recommend it.
STEVE H I'm only 5'6" but I purchased a LG so that I could get plenty of layers on underneath. It's a big baggy but better than binding. The length from top of collar to bottom of hem along the zipper line is 28". Circumference at the hem is 47"
Hope that helps!
TERRY C I would recommend a large. I am 5'9" and have a medium which fits nicely but would not want any smaller. I also have an ultralight down jacket I wear under the shell which works great, still plenty of room to keep the jacket's loft without being too loose without.
SHAWN B First let me say this, I love this jacket! I have 2 of them, one large, the other xlarge. I am 5' 8" with chest size 45. I use the xlarge for back packing because I also put it over a light puffy or other shirts with fleece. The large is a little tight ,my neck to waist is 18 inches. Since you are 6ft, I think xlarge would fit perfect over your jacket. I use my large over shirts or thin fleece. I hope this helps, it's a great jacket. Thanks.
JAMES C I have the large OR Revel. I am 6 ft 1 1/2 inches tall, a chest of 41, and 175 lbs. The large fits me perfect and I just put on a light Mountain Hardware puffy under it and the combo is perfect. You might get by with a medium if you like a nice fit, not too baggy. I tried on a medium and it was a little tight for me but the sleeves were long enough and I have long arms. Great Jacket!!!!
M H Hello- I ordered an extra large. My length for the middle of my neck to waist is 26 " and my chest size is 44 1/2 ". I am 6' 5" tall. I still have plenty of room to wear warmer clothes under this jacket.
PAUL T I, too, am 6', 200#, and went with the XL size. I remain very pleased with thie jacket. Plenty of room for a polartec-type vest or pullover. I predict you will be happy with it as well.
TERRY C I would recommend a large. I am 5'9" and have a medium. It fits nicely, but I couldn't do with any smaller. I also use an ultralight down under the jacket and have found it to be the perfect combo, with enough room to keep its loft but not be too loose.
BEN P I am also 6ft and roughly the same measurements. The medium shell fits amazing by itself and fits like a give over my Mont Bell Light Alpine. The shell was probably the best fitting shell I have ever owned. I recently upgraded to the Outdoor Research Foray. It adds a little more protection from mother nature. I would highly recommend any of Outdoor Research's jackets.
GREGORY F I have a 38" chest and I found the size medium to be relatively tight. The jacket is also not very long. So, if you want to wear something underneath it I would recommend that you go one size up over your normal size
