really like this backpack, i have lots of the north face backpack, this is one of the best, light weight and durable material
like the inside hydration sleeve and port which is bigger than other the north face backpack

No this bag can be used by men or women. I'm a big guy and it works well for me.

I don't believe the backpack is specifically designed for women; however, as a woman who has utilized this backpack daily and on many hiking/backpacking/traveling occasions, it suites me just fine. The only issue I've encountered was the hip adjustments are somewhat awkwardly placed, but that can be attributed to my longer torso.

laptop compartment?

there is one compartment inside but this bag is more for day hike, the compartment is for hydration bag, this bag is very light weight
i dont think it is good for a laptop bag

It comes with laptop compartment; but it's kinda soft -- both the internal sleeve material. Also, the back (the side touching your back) does not have as much cushion as other less technical daypacks.
I also have a Recon I use daily for work. Putting a laptop in there is much more comfortable.
All in all -- laptop compartment is there. It's good and usable; but not the most comfortable.

Not exactly. It has a compartment for a bladder though. Works just as well but it isn't padded.

There is no designated laptop compartment. However, inside the main compartment there is a sleeve that is wide enough (extending across the whole width of the back panel) to accommodate either a 15 inch computer or any hydration bladder.
