I'm not an avid hiker, just a 62 year old guy with sore feet. I'm on my feet a lot at work, and I require metatarsal pads in all of my work and dress shoes. About five years ago, I bought a pair of North Face sneakers which was my only pair of shoes that didn't require a special insert. I wore them until they wore out, only to find the they're no longer made. So I took a chance and ordered the Hedgehogs because they resembled by old pair. To my delight, these shoes were also comfortable right... out of the box. I don't understand footbed technology, but I'd say that North Face definitely does. I'm planning to order a second pair.
I'm a delivery driver and I need a sturdy shoe. The vibram sole is is great, not too flexible because that can fatigue your feet and not to stiff like a hiking boot. The extra covering around the toe helps protect the shoe from damage. Thanks for making a great shoe.
The Hedgehog Fastpack II WP provides on-trail protection with a waterproof DryVent membrane, heel CRADLE and durable Vibram outsole.
