Bought this jacket because I was looking for a very versatile jacket that could keep me warm and dry. I used it up in Portland, OR visiting my friends when the average temp was about low 30's minus windchill. Kept me warm and dry(was raining one of the nights) and I couldn't be happier. I really liked that it's 3 in 1 (I tend to burn up pretty fast) and I can adjust to any situation. I would recommend this jacket as more of a urban jacket because it is pretty big and bulky... If your trav...eling light it won't pack well but you can always just wear it.
Good Jacket, perfectly true to size. I can wear it in any conditions. Warm and lightweight. Only zippers are not perfect, but anyway, excellent purchase for coming Autumn and Summer.

It’s not a rain coat, but it is great in wet weather. It beads water off fairly easily, and dries very quickly. I would definitely recommend this coat. It’s not the heaviest or warmest coat, but not to be underestimated either. It’s never made me feel cold in NYC winter weather, and it’s light enough that I don’t sweat on it either when layered up.

Yes, the outer shell is waterproof with a breathable membrane. With An inner zip out thick fleece jacket. That can be worn separately.

No the hood is not removable. My understanding is the old style was removable but not anymore. My finance bought a women's jacket just like this mens one a couple years ago and the hood is removable but my black/gray atlas that I bought a week ago doesn't have a removable hood.

Is the black Atlas Triclimate all black. Description says there is color blocking under the arms. I need an all black coat. Would this be a good one to get?

I purchased the fig green/black jacket but I believe if you purchase the black jacket you will be fine. I think the color blocking on all jackets by default is black.
