Stay dry

By Wheels

I have not used this yet but it fits my Mountainsmith Lariat 65 Backpack well. I have used their covers in the past without a hitch.

Great Product for Bicycle Commuting

By alxjav

I received the product today, and it fits well my Swiss Army backpack. It should keep my stuff dries, but not the backpack straps. Anyway if you use a raincoat you shouldn't have a problem.

Mountainsmith Rain Cover
Made of durable and weatherproof 70D ripstop nylon, the Mountainsmith Rain Cover offers protection against the elements for backpacks of varying shapes and sizes. A built-in draw cord allows you to cinch the cover tightly over and around your pack. When not in use, the Rain Cover can be stowed neatly in its integrated, compact stuff pouch and stashed inside your backpack. So if you are planning a trip to the rain forest in Costa Rica, you definitely are going to need this rain cover. This seemed like a great little item for a specific purpose - a cheap way to waterproof your camera backpack. The Mountainsmith Rain Cover also features angled cord attachment point, hook and loop closure, integrated stuff sack and taped seams. With the Mountainsmith Rain Cover your pack will stay dry, even while you're getting soaked.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Does anyone know if this bag or the sea to Summit Ultra which one is better? I just have a regular backpack and just would like to have a cover for when I go bike riding in case it rains. I know nothing about these covers. Thank you
BURTON R  the mountainsmith worked well when I spent 12 days ON THE WONDERLAND TRAIL IN WASHINGTON. I HAVE SEA TO SUMMIT DRY SACKAS FOR FOOD AND GEAR. sea TO SUMMIT MAKES OUTSTANDING PRODUCTS TOO. JUST WHATEVER ONE PREFERS TO USE.
EUGENIA S  Measure your pack, read the description of each cover (dimensions) and order the cover a bit larger than your pack.
Shopper  I have a North Face Recon Day Pack - what cover do you recommend?
BARRY B  Sorry, I don't know what will fit your pack. I have a lumber pack from Mountain Smith I got the cover for. I measured it and ordered the cover that was just bigger than the pack. Good luck.
LEO S  I have a Kelty Redwing 50 which has a 14 inch depth. None of these covers are. Can one of these covers work for me?
TIMOTHY F  I believe they can. I have a Mammut Heron Light 65+15 Backpack, on which I front-mounted my Marmut 0 degree mummy sleeping bag on the outside, and I was able to cover it all with my Mountainsmiuth Rain Cover (size large). I still had plenty of cinch to take up afterward, so it was snug on the pack and bag.
BARRY B  The Mountainsmith Extra Small (20" X 14" X 7.5") fits my Mountainsmith Day TSL Lumbar Pack (13" x 12" x 8") just right.
JEN O  I bought the large size for an Osprey 65 and it works great. Not sure depth is an issue per se as it conforms to pack...Great value and fits well even with a full pack.
