Great Pot for backcountry cooking

By GA H.

This thing is honestly great. We always bring fresh food on our winter backpacking trips. Throw a little olive oil in this thing with the food and stick it right in the coals. Cooks up perfectly. Bought on a whim but won't go out without it.

Perfect pans

By C G.

I can keep my stove inside my stowaway pot so minimal space is taken between them. It is also big enough to have a substantial meal in.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

Elaine S  WHICH SIZE would be good FOR TWO PEOPLE But still small enough for an Emergency pack?
HUY T  The small is barely enough to boil water for a mountain house meal. if you are talking about making cofee then it's fine. IF you are talking about cooking or purifying enough water for a nalgene then go bigger. It takes up alot of space but you can fit stuff in it like food, matches, pot holder, etc.
WANDA L  1.1 liter would be ideal.a bit bulkier but still small enough to bug out with
Elaine S  Thanks! I am getting mixed answers on this one!! 2 people say 1.1 and one says 1.6
RYAN A  I bought the 1.1L and found it is slightly too large for one person, so it may suit your needs just fine. Two people; emergency kit, the 1.1L is probably the one for you. I have cooked many a meal in mine and it is holding up well. The lid fits very securely and it still packs up quite well.
BETH O  The larger size. (I believe it's 1.6 liters) The smaller size simply won't hold enough liquid volume. If it were for only one person, the next size down would work fine, but it wouldn't work well for two. As far as being small enough for an emergency pack, that is very subjective and I can't answer. I can say I'm taking this particular pot in my luggage across North America (travelling light on public transit) because it will store all my basics. (A few spices, a bandana, Vargo wood burning stove, fuel gel, wet fire, matches, Leatherman multitool, compass and small headlamp.)
Elaine S  which one are you traveling with the 1.1 or the 1.6 ?? sorry I am confused!! :)
BETH O  The 1.6. The little extra space it provides is perfect. It's surprising what can be stored in it compared to the 1.1.
Elaine S  great thanks!!
KEITH S  What are the diameters of the various size pots?
GRACE C  The smallest one is about 6 inches across at the widest point. There's plenty of space to cook oatmeal / pasta / whatever you want for one person, but cooking for two would get tight or require two separate cooking sessions.
CAROLE A  475ml 2.5h x 4.5w -- 775ml 2.5h x 5.5w -- 1.1l 3h x 6w-- 1.6 L is 3.5h x 7w inches-- Pot WT-- [0.48 L] 9.5 oz, [0.78 L] 13 oz, [1.1 L] 15.5 oz,
TIM S  I have the 1.6 Liter pot. The pot diameters are: top 7 1/4" diameter, bottom 7 1/8" diameter. Depth (without lid on) 2 7/8", with lid on, 3 3/4", including lid handle 4 1/4". Handle length 8 1/4" It is a good size to cook for two people, leaving enough room at the top for stirring. You can put a fuel canister inside without a problem. Hope this helps.
Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
SOON K  I have been searching for these kinds of pot due to locking the lids and size.
MARK C  Sturdy stainless steel that will last a lifetime at the best price I could find. Also the lid locks in place and provides a sturdy handle.
SHANE F  Have these already, hearty SS construction. Amazing versatility. Can be a pot, skillet, or kettle.
case c  the locking lid is awesomeand the 1.6L size gives you plenty of room to store most or in my case my whole kitchen
TIM S  Durable, kind of heavy but tolerable. I like the lid and handle that holds it inplace.
