Easy, Light, Roomy!

More roomy than I thought it would be, can sit up in it, and floor room for other things too. Very light and is easy set up. Vestibule is adequate. I like the netting on warm days and can see the stars. Have not had bad weather yet, so can't comment. I love it!

I got the Marmott Eos 1 for Christmas and used it in January on Sunkota Ridge in the Great Smoky Mountains in a hard rain. It set up easy and it kept me dry. It has plenty of room for a one man tent (I have had other one man tents) I am short and wide. The light weight makes it a winner.

Darlene N  Would this tent hold up well in windy and/or rainy conditions? I'm going to Iceland in the spring and am wondering if I should get the Marmot Eos 1P Ultralight or The North Face Stormbreak 1.
JASON M  I've owned the Marmot for over a year now and it has help up in the wind and rain in Texas. Love the tent.
ANDREA W  I LOVE my Marmot Eos 1P, but when it rains I have to make sure I've staked the rainfly out at all 8 points. I've always stayed dry, but since the tent is small any moisture will be felt. I can fit a small bin and backpack under the vestibule. I might suggest the North Face if space considerations will make you more comfortable in the storm. I'm 5'3", to give you an idea of the size of the tent, my head/shoulders rub the mesh of the tent when I sit up and I have about enough space for my water & clothes inside the tent besides myself.
RICHARD W  I have used it in mostly wooded and other conditions not in high winds, but it is good in rain. It has some tie cords for extra tie down. My main dislike is the fact that I am only 5'7 so it is more long and slender then I prefer. Would rather have one a few inches shorter in length but a few inches wider. I have had a North Face tent also and was very pleased with it.
FARZAD S  Have the marot Eos1, I do not recommend it is very small( which is expected) and looks like it is not very tight.. wind would get in and freeze you, Do not know about the rain. I have a three person tent sinle ply that I am using. Take care
WILLIAM H  In my opinion the Marmot tent would be much too lightweight for Iceland. I bought it for bicycle touring in the USA. My wife used it for a two month tour but sold it afterward saying it was just to small. It served its purpose for us and she stayed dry in rainy weather. I would suggest a heavier tent for Iceland where you know it will be rainy and windy. I don't know anything about the Northface tent but in general like that style, however they will catch the wind so you have to be careful to orient it properly and guy it out. Make sure it has a good rainfly and that the fly attaches securely to both the poles and stakes.
CHARLES F  Both should be fine (i also have the Marmot) . I would be careful about an ultralight, in spring, in rough terrain, but both are great products.
GERALD R  This marmot is a fine tent. Answers are yes to both. I was in it in heavy winds (actually that's an understatement) in the Grand Canyon (plus a little rain that came in because the fly wasn't secured as well as it should have been) and then had it out in Banff Park for a trip that included 1.5 days of rain-snow. My only complaint is that the zipper -- like most zippers -- don't seem like they'll be very durable, but so far, no problems with them.
GERALD R  Is the construction of the zipping mechanism of sufficient quality to withstand windblown sand? Windblown sand often clogs the zipping mechanism and will destroy the zipper's ability to zip if it is made of plastic or other lightweight construction.
DAVE J  Jerry, I have not had this tent in windblown sand. However, the zipper works great and has never snagged on me. I'm sure it's not made of plastic.
WILLIAM H  While using this tent on the continental divide, I crossed much dessert like terrain and my tent gave no zipper problems whatsoever. In fact, I found the zipper to work very smoothly and easily. I am 5 ft. 7 in tall and while sitting up in the tent, my head bumped the ceiling which was annoying. It the tent were a bit taller, it would be perfect. Also, there was lots of condensation on the interior rain fly side every morning as well as outside of the tent on the floor. Linda

RICHARD W  I have not used it much in any sand conditions so cannot answer specifically regarding sand. Seems to be good in cold weather, snow, etc.
Shopper  I'm looking at a 1 person tent. Under the specification tab, what is the difference between packaged weight and minimum weight?
