Great for keeping the wet and wind out but needed a quilted thinsulate underneath for warmth!
Marmot Minimalist Jacket for Women The Marmot Minimalist Jacket for Women is a great addition to your outdoor winter wardrobe. This jacket has been designed for women so that it fits better. It has 100% taped seams and GORE-TEX Paclite material, making it fully waterproof to keep you dry from the rain or snow. The water-resistant zipper ensures that this jacket closes properly and keeps the water out as well. This jacket has two zippered hand pockets that are great for keeping your hands from getting too cold. It has an elastic draw cord hem that you can use to adjust the fit according to the weather. The jacket also comes with a chest pocket where you can place your phone or other small items to keep them close at hand. Explore the outdoors in comfort with the Marmot Minimalist Jacket for Women.

Yes its goretex, and the fabric is waterproof, but the hood is awkward and small, and the bill is too short, so in moderate rain when you put the hood up, water easily gets in around your cheek and jaw. Tightening the draw string does not help (you can see from the picture). I got this for my wife and she was thoroughly dissatisfied with it as this was discovered out on a long backpacking trip. I don:t know why it has such good reviews. Maybe nobody ever used it in the rain. My wife ended up getting a different company jacket (a Harder brand to Wear on the Mountain) and was happier and dry. She only uses the Marmot as a wind breaker of very light rain.

is this coat a "laminate" type or a coated type?
BRETT B
I am not sure but there isn't a coating that you can feel. It's a natural texture so I think it would be what you are calling a coating. It's not plastic or stiff feeling. Runs true to a little tight in sizing though.

I'm so sorry l don't know. I've lost the little booklet that came with the jacket.
