Mcnett drops worked great

These water treatment drops are the best I've ever used. They work very fast and leave almost no aftertaste. This is 1000x better than iodine tabs in terms of speed and particularly taste.

These treatment drops eliminate a variety of harmful waterborne pathogens, including giardia and cryptosporidium, in clear, muddy, warm, and cold water. They also get rid of viruses and odor-causing bacteria and enhances the taste of stored portable water. Though compact and lightweight, these drops can treat as much as 30 gallons of water. Using the included cup, pour 7 drops of the Part A and Part B solution and let it sit for five minutes. Once the liquid turns to a fluorescent yellow color, pour it into your 1 qt. MIKE V  yes it is not as easy as a pump or a steri-pen, but chemicals have a 0% failure rate and aquamira has no taste unlike iodine or bleach.
