Let me say this tent is every bit of quality you would assume from Kelty! Set up is a breeze even with one person. I fit two queen air beds in it no problem with some room left for gear. This tent held up great in a thunderstorm with heavy rain and wind without a drop of water getting in! The aluminum poles are great and strong. I will only purchase kelty tents for me and my family after using this tent and the way it preformed in the weather that came upon us while camping. Remember you get ...what you pay for and without this tent I would have been looking for a motel in that storm!

The Trail Ridge 6 tent seems to be "see-through," or somewhat transparent without the fly on. Is this so? If yes, what about privacy without the fly on?

This tent is very "see through" its basically all mesh for great ventilation. If you want more privacy but a comparable tent you should check out the Kelty Buttress 6 Tent (SKU: KLTTB6) The polyester goes up to almost shoulder length with out the fly. Stay safe and have fun out there! Neal
