Worth EVERY penny!

I used this tent in a heavy rain, then snow storm. winds reached about 60 mph and this tent held up great. watch for the zipper lining getting frozen in cold temps, but thats more a caution than complaint. all in all, this tent was a great price and was exactly what i was looking for.

SunnySports S  The Grad Mesa would suffice, it would do a fine job actually. In my opinion you should check out the Kelty Salida 4. Its a brand new tent that has won awards for its design. SunnySports S  I like the Grand Mesa for the extra height. The storm fly on this is also excellant. Depending on the gear your storing in the vestibule, get a LARGE water proof bag or "Pack Ponchos" for your back packs.
Shopper  I"m looking for a 3-4 person tent (at least 8X7) for cool weather camping. I know you need ventilation, but I"m looking for one where you can zip enough mesh closed that you don"t get breeze through and it retains some body heat if it gets into the 30"s at night. Does this tent fit that description or what would you recommend? Thanks.
SunnySports S  This is a great 3 season tent ! NOT 4 season. The mesh will allow ventilation, while you will be able to close down the outer shell. The secret is to stake out the shell close to the tent and place old pine brances on the wind side to stop strong drafts but allow a slight breeze to circulate air. Adjust the temperature with the layers of your sleeping bag!Have Fun Out There!Carl
