Comfortable pack at an outstanding price

By Brandon

I've had this pack for a few weeks now, and was finally able to get it loaded up for my first outing with it. Just shy of ten miles on a low-moderate difficulty trail proved to be a breeze. Despite being relatively out of shape, and well out of practice when it comes to hiking any amount of distance, this pack made carrying a 25+ lbs load a simple task. With a large number of pockets/compartments to work with, organization was extremely simple and made for a sensible and easy to work with loa...

Awesome pack great service

By Rugershooter

First this pack is absolutely outstanding. Not too big and lots of pockets to organize things. The frame stays in this pack help carry a pretty heavy load if you need to but you can also cinch everything down and make it reasonable for a short hike. I contacted customer service to inquire about a hip belt extender and they sent one right out. Very pleased with the pack and even more so with the service. Great product great company. I’d give it 6 stars if I could.

The Kelty Redwing 50 Internal Pack is a mid-sized daypack for traveling across country or a day on the trail. Featuring a full-access U-shaped zipper, you can get at your gear either through the top loader or the panel loader, giving you options on the trail. An internal padded sleeve can either hold your laptop or store your hydration system, and extra water bottle pockets on the side help you stay hydrated. A multitude of pockets give you plenty of options for storing all your gear, like dual side pockets, a top stash pocket, a front pocket with organization, a front stash pocket with closure hook, and even a key fob so you don't lose your keys. Strap on your extra gear with the hide-away daisy chain and handy ice axe or trekking pole loops, and the waist belt is removable when you don't need it. The advanced Hex Mesh back panel, shoulder straps, and waist belt are ultra comfortable, and the padded and ventilating back panel keeps your back cool and comfortable all day long. You can stabilize your load with the sternum strap and load lifter straps to fit the Kelty Redwing 50 Internal Pack snuggly against your body and head out on your next adventure.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Hi. I'm 175 cm and I want to know if that model could work for me?
DAVE S  It will been fine for you. I am 179cm and use it all the time as a carry on for travel. This is the best backpack I have ever had. I actually bought three of them when they were on sale so I have backups in case they ever go out of production. I have had one for almost 8 years and has not failed on me yet. It fits perfectly in overhead bins of an airplane even when it's fully loaded. I like the fact that it has lots of compartments to keep things sorted. Buy one and you won't be disappointed.
BRENDAN S  While I am taller (183 cm), I do not believe that your height should be a concern with this pack. Instead, concern yourself with what you will be doing and the amount of space needed. For myself, I originally bought the pack for a month long trip through India and Nepal. I wanted a pack that I could carry on the plane as well as buses and trains and never have to worry about leaving unattended. The pack was perfect. Currently I am using the pack for my daily bike commutes to work and it continues to hold up well while being very comfortable. With the adjustable straps, I would expect that you would have no problem getting a good fit. Again, determine the size you need for what you will be carrying and purchase your pack volume size based on that. I am sure you can find some online videos to give you a better idea of the overall size. Best wishes.
JUAN L  Yes, I am 5'10 and though the pack is large you can adjust the straps to accommodate your comfort. I've gone on many trips with mine for over 3 years with no issues.
DON W  I'm about 188 cm, and the 50 fits me well, but instead of overall height, Kelty suggests fitting by torso length. They claim the 50 fits torsos from ~40 cm to ~54 cm. In contrast, the suggest the 44 fits torsos from ~37 cm to 47 cm.
DAVID M  I don't see why not. It is adjustable. I'm 5'6" and it fits great. Torso size is more important than height
Shopper  I'm 175 cm. could it work for me?
WADE S  I am 182.88 cm or 72 inches and the pack works great! You won't regret spending your money on this pack! And it fits in the overhead when flying.
CASEY E  Yes. I'm 5'5" & found the bag very comfortable
HICHAM M  Yes
PAUL D  Yes. excellent pack... holds alot and well built as all Kelty packs are. ??
CHRISTOPHER J  It's perfect for you! I'm 2" taller and I carried it 10,000 miles. Best pack I've ever bought. Pretty indestructible.
ALDRIC S  Very well made pack. It will be an excellent choice for you.
Shopper  Is this pack waterproof or can anyone recommend one that is?
BILL L  Hello The pack is not total waterproof alone, most packs that say they are have a cover either separate or connected to the pack that pulls out and over. The pack is well worth the price and has many pockets I use mine for fishing and holds all of my gear and tackle.
LEO S  Get a rain cover
JAMS B  I never use it in a hard rain so I don't know. My bag stay dry in a light rain Jim
JOHN M  I have not had it in a situation where it was in a lot of water but while walking in the rain the water did bead up on it. Was out in the rain for about 30 min. Hope that helps.
