Great pack cover

By Layne O.

The Kelty Large pack cover fits my Redwing 50 and my Coyote 80 very well and the cinch cord and beefy chord lock keeps things snug and is easy to install. I also like the straps and snaps that help keep the cover anchored to the packs top lid straps.. I've used pack covers for years and my other brand covers didn't have this feature. The material is light, tough and and water proof...I've found that pack covers can serve as a nice dry place to stand your pack and unload or load it, and the Ke...

Geat rain covers

By Eric

My son and I used these rain covers on our Kelty Red Cloud 90 backpacks. I bought the large to be sure they would fit our packs for our hike at Philmont Scout Reservation in New Mexico. They fit with nor problem and had extra room. We would cinch them down tight on our packs. The rain never got threw them, even after four days of rain. we even used the covers on our packs for the drive home. All the packs were in the bed of a truck. The covers never came off and the packs stayed dry. I'd high...

Questions about this item:

Kenneth B  Rain cover for a kelty trekker 65?
SCOTT T  I bought this rain cover for a Kelly red cloud 90.it fit and worked great
SEAN D  I've used it North Shore Kauai in rainy season: cherry!
Brent S  What is the cubic size for this cover Looking at covering a Red cloud 110 and a Coyote 80?
RUSSELL K  Well, the RedCloud 110 is a 6,500 cu in or 110 liters. I bought the Large size and it fits my RedCloud 110 just fine. The Medium may be a better fit for the Coyote 80.
RUSSELL K  I own a Kelty Red Cloud 110 and the Kelty Large pack cover, both purchased at Sunnysports. The large cover fits the Red Cloud 110 just fine including a tent or sleeping bag carried externally. It may be a bit large for the Coyote 80.
GARY C  The large cover is large enough to cover my Red Cloud 110, even with gear stowed on the outside of the pack. Good value!
CHRISTOPHER L  Not sure of the exact cubic size, but I used this to cover an external fame pack and had plenty of room. For a 110 or 80 you should be fine, even with a pair of camp shoes and a bag of trash hanging off the back:) It is an excellent cover and since you can cinch it down, you will get full coverage. After a 10 day hike with 6 days of rain, my gear was dry as a bone.
Shopper  I'm looking to use this cover as a protection from airport baggage conveyors, etc, as well as rain protection. Will it serve that purpose as well? And how does it cinch up around the pack? drawstring? elastic? Thanks! Scott
RUSSELL K  Not a good choice for airport baggage handling protection. Get a cheap canvas duffel bag so the pack is completely covered and no straps are exposed to getting caught and broken. I've done that a few times and just tossed the duffel or given it to someone at the destination after my flight.
KARLA H  I've honestly lucked out an never had to use in (for rain) and never tried using it for airport conveyor protection. Sorry I can't be more help.
WAYNE A  Sorry to take so long to reply. I don't think that the pack cover will hold up well in an airport conveyor system, etc. It's great for rain protection though. It has an elastic band to hold it on. The cover is thin and light weight but seems to be a great design.
CALVIN C  This cover uses a drawstring closure. The cover wraps around the top and bottom and two sides of the pack, but leaves a big enough opening that you can actually carry the pack by the straps. In the picture shown, the side not shown is quite open, so that you could hike with the cover on if you wanted too. As for conveyor protection, if there is anything hard inside of the cover, it will cause an abrasion to the cover wherever it strikes the conveyor. The material is like a heavyduty wind breaker, and will withstand some punishment, like bushes and maybe some branches, but I think it is really more for covering your pack while it is at rest. I use mine all the time to protect from morning dew and rain and it works great for this.
KEITH E  This cover will not survive baggage handling equipment.. We stuff our loaded backpacks into large heavy duty cotton laundry type bags for airline and motor vehicle transport. The bag cinches with elastic. Works fine for weather protection.
