can i carry a tent/sleeping mat on the outside?

There are compression straps on the bottom that can be extended to hold a sleeping pad. I've never tried a tent, but if it's on the smaller size it would probably fit. Additionally, the lid is floating so if you're packed to the brim, you could lay something across the top and secure the lid over it.

Yes very easily but, you need a quality sleeping bag that rolls up tight and tent is not an issue

Definitely. You could either lash it to the bottom of the pack or put it under the brain. I carry a tent under the brain and lash my sleeping pad to the bottom.
