For the price, durability, and organization, this is a great pack!

By Dbjbravo

This pack has a lot of great things going for it. It has great capacity, performs well, has plenty of convenient access points, and has what feels like a never-ending list of features. The PerfectFIT suspension is a cool feature. I like not having to spend a ton of time horsing around with getting my packs sized correctly and comfortably. I LOVE having three access points to get into the pack (top, middle, and bottom). All of the pockets are super nice to have to maintain organization as well...

Really nice ruck

By Lance B.

First thought, this is an extremely comfortable pack, thick and wide shoulder and waist straps that are also quite breathable. The internal frame is rigid but just flexible enough to form to your back, I never dread strapping this pack on my shoulders. I specifically ordered a black ruck because it will get dirty and beatup, and this ruck seems like it will be able to hang in there for a while. I really like that it is a big pack, however you don't have to fill it, you have the options to cin...

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

charles f  How much does it weigh?
DIANA K  Hi Charles, this pack weighs approximately 5 lbs 5 oz / 2.4 kg.
Shopper  does it have straps on the bottom for a tent? i dont see this in the specs.
JESSE L  This pack does not have straps on the bottom for a tent. It does have a series of spaces where one could attach a clip or rope and attach a tent on the bottom of the pack that way.
RICHARD S  Yes there is a strap on bottom of pack sewn into the pack with equally spaced sections. P.S. this is a great pack I am well pleased.
CURT S  No but it has plenty of loops so you can tie off your tent to the bottom of the pack
GILBERT A  Yes, there are "straps" or molle webbing on the bottom of the pack to secure a tent or sleeping bag to it.
MICHAEL T  No it does not, but there is webbing on the bottom which can easily be used to mount stuff to the bottom. For example that is where I keep my my sleeping pad. I just ran nylon webbing around the pad and through the webbing on the bottom of the pack.
CAROL H  It does have loops on the bottom. You will need straps to attach the tent using the loops.
Shopper  Can you describe how to determine the size for this pack? What is the torso measurement?
SEDALE T  The specs on the site are accurate, but if you want to be sure go to an REI or a sporting store and try it on. Its a much better deal here, so buy it online.
WAYNE M  Here is the torso measurement instructions taken from Kelty's website: To measure your torso, drape a soft tape measure from the seventh vertebrae (the bony protrusion at the base of your neck) down along the contour of your spine to the low point between your hipbones. To find that point, place a hand on each hip with your thumbs pointing in. The line connecting your thumbs is what you're measuring to. The fitting instructions for Kelty packs can be found in the "Customer Care" section of Kelty's website, found at the bottom of a web page, under the Product Instructions tab. The Coyote instructions are found in the "2009 Packs" drop down menu. Everything you could wish to know about adjusting the pack to fit you is in these instructions, a worthwhile read.
