Keri K What age range is this Kelty K.I.D.S. Frame Child Carrier FC 1.0 for? My niece just had a baby and wants something like this.
KEVIN M I'm sure it varies but this carrier fit our daughter starting around 5 months and still fits her with plenty room to grow at 22 months. I don't think pediatricians recommend back carriers for infants under 6 months because of the risk of suffocation if they can't be seen. Front carriers work better for young babies and there are a few soft carriers that convert from front to back. We got one made by Ergobaby and it works fine for walking to the store. But still, for longer hikes, or if our daughter is likely to fall asleep, the rigid Kelty backpack is preferable.
DANNY L Your child should be able to hold their head up without difficulty. This was about 5-6 months for my boy. Every child is different so make sure before taking them on a long hike. This is a great product, by far the best child carrier out there and the price can not be beat.
MONICA A Baby needs to be able to sit up before you can start putting her in it, but that won't take long! Personally, we have two of these, because our children are all about 2 years apart, so we use them, even past two years of age, with all our traveling: camping and hiking are, of course uses I'm sure everyone thinks about, but just think about all the places that aren't suitable for strollers. We use them in airports, busy foreign cities (awesome in Paris), foreign resorts that aren't stroller friendly (lots of changes in elevation and no elevators in much of Central and South America), even just going to local festivals at fair grounds and rodeos, we ALWAYS have the baby backpacks with us! And, we've used them up to about 4 years of ages, but it will depend on the weight of your child and the carrier's strength! I can do the little kids up to about 2 years, my husband gets the bigger kids up to about 4 years.
This one is a great brand and model, because the straps and padding are all perfect and in perfect positions. At one time we had another brand, and the straps weren't very padded, so it started to hurt your shoulders after awhile.
All in all, we totally recommend this product!
Hope this helps!
MELISSA D We started using it when he was 4 months old but that's when we purchased it. He is 2 years old now and still fits!! :0)
JUSTIN W This carrier its awesome. I have used it once my child was about six months old. He its fourteen months old now and I still use it. My child loves riding in this carrier. Everywhere we go people look at this carrier and ask me where I got it and I tell them about Sunny Sports. I highly recommend this carrier. You can use this carrier as soon as the child can hold there head up. Your niece will love it.
VITALII M We bought ours when our boy was a few months old. He is 18 months now. He started walking when he was 11 months, and we used it seldom after that. It is very comfortable and has been a great support for my wife. I would say it can be used up to two years old.
