Not on the inside. I was able to put my laptop in the outer compartment but its a tight squeeze for a MacBook Air 11". It will fit though if that's what you have. Or an iPad. All in all I love the bag though. Fun, safe travels.

My son is a BoyScout and has used this many times. On the bottom of the bag is a Velcro pocket. Inside is a yellow rain bag that is tethered and removable.

Flip the pack upside down. At the very bottom of the pack there is a zipper with the rain fly tucked inside.

No, the top portion can in no way detach. The top (or lid) is sewn to the pack with adjustable straps to strengthen it.
