I was sick of having to lug my giant duffle bag up flights of stairs or across parking lots. I decided I would look for a lighter duffel bag with wheels. That's how it started. I researched many bags before finding High Sierra at Sunny Sports online.I found they had the least expensive bags that seemed to suit my needs. I then went to High Sierra's website and researched all of their bags to find the best one for what I needed. I went from just wanting wheels to wheels and backpack potential for an easier carrying option up stairs at airports or hotels. I also wanted a carry on bag because I hate waiting at airports to get my luggage. The AT558 had a few pictures on both websites. It was advertised as being 3 bags in one. A lower compartment for shoes or dirtier items, which I thought would zip off leaving a middle bag for clothing and zipping off again for a smaller day bag to bring with when going around town. Also, originally I wanted a bag I could throw into the laundry like my duffle bag but the perfect bag just does not exist. The AT 558 was as close as I could get with the most options on my list. The bag arrived from Sunny Sports a few days after ordering. It was packed well and it looked like a really nice bag. Very durable, nice looking and small enough to carry on an airplane. However, when I opened the case, I noticed right away that this was not 3 bags in one, but really just had 3 zippers. So you cannot remove each portion from the other part. It's all connected and basically, was just like most other cases with wheels. I sent the bag back to Sunny Sports over a week ago with a different bag choice (the one that has an actual detachable day bag) and am waiting to hear from them soon. It's hard to believe I can't find a machine washable duffle bag with detachable wheels, a detachable day bag and a bottom compartment for shoes all with backpack straps. Is this really so much to ask?? :) Wish me luck.
