Wish I had owned this hooded vest when in the Caribbean where the winds and weather were quite cold. Also would have not had to pay extra for overweight gear bag if I had worn this vest with the many pockets.

I might have bought this item long ago and don't have a vivid recollection of it but the photo looks quite familiar and I do think it has a hidden hoodie in the collar and I don't think it is removable.
I think it is a very lightweight hood that is not even of the same material as the rest of the vest.

No but it's rolled up in collar so you don't see it.

No. The hood rolls up into the collar and zips shut, thereby concealing the hood.

and their for I wore it in the summer

Yes, and for early fall/late spring. Not really for hot climate, however. There are others out there with a mesh back that work better when it's hot out.

I keep that vest in Costa Rica, and am in Virginia at the moment, so I can't give you actual dims of the pockets. It is a very comfortable light-weight vest perfect for the climate there on the meseta central. The new, small IPAD would fit, but the larger one is doubtful. I will be in CR 9 Jan, so if you still want to know, try back then.

I am not sure as i do not have an Ipad, however, the pockets range from fairly large to small. I found this item to be quite satisfactory for my use. I used this time for security work.
