Great quality, last a long time

I've had this hammock for almost 5 years now and it's still in great condition! You can't beat the low price too! When people ask me if my hammock is a different brand I tell them no and that I bought it at less than half the price of the competitor brand. Shopper  In dry conditions, would this be a good substitute for a tent?
GABE B  I think it would be I would still carry a poncho or something that you could rig up for a tarp, just in case. I also own a Hennessey Hammock and it is far better suited for a tent substitute. The problem I would see with the Grand Truck would be keeping your sleeping bag, etc. from falling / sliding off, the cocoon type shape of the Henessey is far better suited for getting in and out of a sleeping bag , however I bet if you practiced a bit it might be alright.
JAMES T  Its a fine subtitute for a tent in wet weather, provided you bring a tarp and a rope. I don't even use a tent anymore. Gets cold though, not for cold weather.

GARRETT H  As an avid hammock camper, I'd give a big, lightly qualified YES. I've used this hammock for many overnights, usually paired with a lightweight tarp and a sleeping bag, and I find it far more comfortable than sleeping in a tent. It also adds another element of connection with the outdoors that being zipped inside a tent just doesn't offer. If your conditions are warm & dry, you might be good with just this hammock. Since air moves around you on all sides, it will always be colder than sleeping on the ground, so depending on conditions you may need things like an underquilt, sleeping pad, or just a decent sleeping bag. A hammock is a great alternative to a tent when the conditions are right. It's not always the best solution, but when it is, you'll look forward to climbing in at then end of the day.
