I just got back from three weeks in N. Minnisota and Ontario fishing and canoeing and used this bad alot. Its plenty warm for 60+, packs tiny and weight less. Its a well made piece of gear and performed very well...5 stars.

Awesome product. Stronger than I thought it would be. Washed easily in machine without any special care. Dried in a couple of hours hanging in bathroom. Roomy, felt wonderful against skin. Used in 2 types of climates. Cool in heat and great insulator in cold.

Grand Trunk Silk Sleeping Sack - Single - Blue - Long Size Features
ANNE L
I don't know the official weight, but it is next to nothing - just a few ounces at most. It stuffs into a sack about the size of my fist - tiny - so tucks in anywhere.
SHELLEY A
It was less than 5 ounces. It was strong and roomy and incredibly comfortable. I would recommend it highly!
ALDEN H H
4.42 oz.
JEAN S
Not sure, but really light and comfortable. On warm nights we will use it on top of the sleeping bag.
JUDITH M
Extremely light. I bought this for my son in the State Department, for use in case he needed it at his posting in Baghdad. He did, as there were times when they had to sleep in the office, as their sleeping quarters were flimsy small trailers. The cots they used were not particularly clean.
Long answer for a short question. As I recall, and this was several years ago, it came packaged in a very small plastic bag.
NANCY W
Very light. I have not weighed it, but I am guesstimating 4-5 ounces. If I am able to get out the scale in the next couple of days, I will send you the exact weight.

Does this product contain a zipper, and if so, does it completely open up into a rectangular double wide blanket. If so, can it be zipped together with another rectangular sleeping bag so that this product is the bottom, and the heavier bag as the top cover?
CHRISTINA G
This doesn't have a zipper at all. It's a simple thin (blouce fabric) sack made of silk fabric.
ALLAN G
The Grand Trunk silk sleeping sack does not have zippers. Both sides are sewn together up to about 3/5's the way up. From there it is open. There are 2 sets of strings on either side which you tie to close.
DESIREE S
Sleep sack does not have a zipper.
SCOTT L
No zipper.
JEAN S
Douglas - The product does not have a zipper and it does not open all the way into a rectangular blanket. It open half way on both sides and has little ends that can tie together on the top of the open sections.

does anyone know what type of silk this is made out of? and if some silk sleep sack material is better than others....want something warm and light to go with sleeping bag.
SHELLEY A
The silk quality was excellent. Once I learned how to get in and out of it, I never got twisted. I thought I wanted a zipper but once I used this (for a month) I was happy with the ties. Excellent product!
CHRISTIAN S
I don't know which silk it is, but I thought it was a bit course for as it goes. Most likely to help it breath. Considering that, thread count might be a factor for you. However, I used it as a bag liner and it was truly horrible for that task. It quickly twisted up and bound me so tightly that several of the button loops tore off within the first few minutes of use as I tried to free myself. By itself, maby - as a liner - I think you would be better off stitching up an old cotton sheet.
MICHAEL B
I do not know what type of silk it is but this sleeping sack is thin and light. I would say it is good for summer by itself in temps above 65? and for a little extra warmth in the shoulder seasons. It also serves to keep your sleeping bag clean and free of body oils.
