harry h will the poncho cover your pack as well as you ?
STEPHEN A Yes, it is quite large. I do alot of solo trips so my 90 ltr backpack is pretty full and it covers everything fine.
KAZUO N Yes, it'll fully covers me and my pack.
I'm 4' 5 and fully covers back and side about the hight of my knee when I have fully loaded Goregory Baltoro 70 on my back.
It also have a snap on the back side and can make it shorter when having no pack or smaller one.
MARK A Depends on the pack size. I use an extremely large pack and it covers about 75%. I suspect most normal sized packs would be fully covered.
DAVID D Yes, Poncho will cover your pack. I no longer carry a pack cover because of this.
JOSEPH R This is a great tarp poncho. Light weight ans compact which makes it perfect for backpacking. It more than roomy enough to keep you, and your fully loaded backpack dry. Two thumbs up.
GINA D Yes it will, it's bigger than you think ; )
MICHAEL S I believe the poncho was designed to go over a pack. I also bought it for a small shelter. I actually have never used it as an over the pack poncho but it looks to be long enough to fit over a pack.
MIKE D The poncho tarp will cover you and your pack, but like all ponchos, they are difficult in the wind. I do not recommend it if you are going to use it as a shelter, too. The tiedown points are not very sturdy and there is very little room. It's ok as an emergency shelter. I also think it 's over priced.
My recommendation is to ge a light'weight rain suit like Frogg Toggs and if you want to use a tarp shelter, the Noah Tarp 9 is a nice option.
BRUCE H D Yes, it will. The back has velcro patches on it so it can either be folded up if you're wearing it without a pack, or unfolded if you are. My wife and I have used ours both as ponchos (with packs) and as tarps. They work great and are very good quality.
ERIC B Yes, the Golite Poncho Tarp covers my pack very well. I also have found that in intermitent rain I can just toss the poncho over my shoulder on top of the pack and out of my way, then when it starts to rain, I just reach back and put it back in place. No stopping to remove and then replace, very convenient
RICK F Sure! It has an extension in the back that unsnaps to give coverage to both pack and lower legs.
NANCY F Yes it does, a 65 liters
