Shopper Can one person set up this tent? I will be camping alone with my dog... and don't think she will be much help.
BEN M Yes, one person can set the tent up very easily and I do it all the time.
JJ W Since I have had this tent, I am bummed to report that I have not gone to Yosemite yet or left the backyard for that matter but the good news is that while it would be easier to have someone else help, my 8 yr old daughter usually just watches me set the poles up and put them aside and after putting the undertarp down and laying the tent on top, feeding the 2 cross poles thru the top canopy and securing 1 corner with the ring fastener, I then carefully lift the top (middle) cross pole canopy section then secure the other side, then careful not to dislodge that pole make my way to the other corner and again secure the ring and by then it is stable enuf to put the last corner down.
So yes, it is possible to do what I have been doing since I bought this cool dome a few years ago???
Dang - I have got to get my reservations in for Lower Pines b4 Mo is too old to want to be with dear old dad...

Slacker dad
PAUL S The short answer is yes...one person can set up the tent.
I never had to set it up by myself, but decided to give it a try last night. I was able to do it, though some parts, like getting the fly on, seemed a bit awkward. I'm thinking with practice, it would be less so.
DUANE D Yes, I have set up my tent by myself many times. It is more difficult to set it up by yourself but you should be able to do it with no problems.
DEIDRE W Yes, quite easily. My dog doesn't help either.
SHAWN Y Hi, i set up this tent by myself (sunrise 9) about a dozen times. Iam 5'10, and didnt have any problems, helps to have the door unzip to step into when reaching for the top of the tent, fly is can be very tricky if its windy out
JOHN C I would say yes. The only problems would be heavy winds or an unruly dog. Camping alone with your dog you would want to be familiar with the setting up beforehand but is definitely possible.
BRUCE B Absolutely! Of course easier with two, but can definitely be set up with one person.
ANDREW B It's possible, but won't be easy. Due to the sleeves that the poles go through, the poles tend to snag and is much easier with two people......it's not impossible tho. Remember the tent is large and tough to work around with only one person. It's an awesome tent tho. No issues after 3 years of ownership and much use.
VIKKI G Yes. ..I do it on my own all the time. .. takes a little practice but totally doable... and i love being able to stand up in it. ... not practical for day hiking though. ..many of my friends have copied me.. and i thoroughly recommend it. ... enjoy
MICHAEL B I have set mine up solo. I thread the poles in, set both coners on pne end then one opposite corner. Hold the set pole while setting up the second cross pole.
