Does the green LED blinking light stay on even when you are not using the lantern? Or does it turn off when the lantern is off?

The blinking light stays on when the lamp is turned off so you can locate the on/off switch easier in the dark. I recommend removing the batteries while its in your pack or when stored at home. It's a nice lamp and I'm very happy with it so far.

own 2 of these lights now for 2+ years and am very happy with them. Have seen other concerns about the small blinking LED light which continues even when off but it's of no concern to me. The blinking led, for locating it in the dark, uses such little power, i can't say it affects the battery life to much of a degree.

It flashes all the time, I believe the intent is to make it easy to locate when you are NOT using it. The blink is not annoying or disruptive, just "there".

Hi Joe, it stays on even when the lantern is turned off. It blinks about once every 5 seconds but isn't very bright. Not distracting to me.

Joe, i think they turn off after prolong unuse,the tiny led will not kill your batteries at all,when not in use i just remove them and put in a ziplock bag with the lantern,just to keep them from getting acid leaks. i use rechargble batteries, and take a spare set when camping. i love my lantern/flashlight.

JOE , I THINK IT STAYS ON , JUST SO YOU CAN FIND THE LANTERN IN THE DARK, READING UP ON THE POWER IT USES, AND FOR AN LED LIGHT THAT SMALL, IT WOULD TAKE YEARS TO KILL THE BATTERIES, JUST PULL THE BATTERIES WHEN NOT CAMPING. I OWN TWO, I LOVE THEM!!

Very nice light. Very solid and well built. It has a nice even light distribution in both lantern and flashlight mode. It's also very bright. I put it on my camp table at night and also hang it from it's bottom inside my tent. Its also nice that it runs on AA batteries because these are very easy to find batteries, as well as being easy to carry and cost cheap. I own different AA battery lanterns and I think this is a nice one.
