Perfect companion for the Spitfire 1 tent. Always use a tent footprint and you might as well use the one designed for your tent. Great price SonnySports!
Eureka Footprint for Spitfire 1The Eureka Footprint for Spitfire 1 is a very important addition to the tent. This footprint protects the tent floor from damage by rocks or roots which may destroy the tent when not taken care of. The problem when using a tent is that the bottom gets quite dirty and makes it very difficult to pack and keep it along with your gear, which may also get dirty. The advantage of using the footprint is that is keeps the bottom clean for packing and you may easily pack to your tent back when leaving for home. The footprint adds an extra layer of protection form water and keeps you dry while sleeping inside the tent. With a size of just 0.4 lbs., this footprint is quite easy to carry by yourself. The footprint is made up of heavy duty 6mm polythene that does not allow it to be easily damaged. The footprint has been presized to fit the shape of you tent. The Eureka Footprint for Spitfire 1 is a must have product for your tent.

Where are the grommets? The picture shows grommets at the locations that match up with the tent poles but when I received mine, there were no grommets on the (4) tent stake loops.

My tent and footprint is packed away and I don't remember the grommets status. If I could not secure it I would have returned it. If you can't stake it and the grommets are missing it is a faulty product.

There were no grommets on mine either, but I have found the flexibility of just the loops satisfactory

Our didn't have grommets either, and the loops didn't match well with the tent poles. It's a rather poor design and apparently doesn't match what's pictured.

Footprint gets staked out with tent body. Grommets are only on tent net body for poles.

There are no grommets. I've been using mine for a number of years without grommets with no problem. Works great.

Hey Scott.
It seems that you have the same realization as I had; there are no grommets on the loops for the stakes. I purchased my footprint several years ago and they apparently were this way, even back then.
There seems to be a reason why, though...
Once you have the tent poles inserted into the grommets on the tent itself, there really is no room (on the ends of the poles) after that for them to secure onto the pictured footprint grommets. Perhaps earlier models of the tent had longer ends on the poles that could hold onto two grommets. I personally haven't had a problem with this, because once the tent is on the footprint, that footprint stays put.
This does mean, however, that you may need to use two more stakes (on the flap side and opposite flap side of the tent) if you want the footprint to be extra tight.

Thanks for the info. I have had my Spitfire since 2005 and love it. Just never had a footprint except tor the tarp one I made for it. Good point on the poles, I will look at mine when I get home since it is an older model.

I chose the Spitfire 1 footprint because it is designed to work with the tent as it is cut to fit the shape of the Spitfire and attach to all the major attachment points which will help keep it in place....thus saving you any guess work! Finally it is made from lightweight yet strong materials that will last a long time and help protect my tent floor so it will last a long time too! Lastly, SunnySports offered the best price for this item.

Great companion for the Spitfire 1 tent. Very light weight and easy to use. Saves the bottom of the tent from being soiled and wear.
