DAVID S Heather - ? My waist measured 35 when I got it and now measures 34; and I use it on as many as 4 layers in winter and 1 layer in summer. Under these conditions it?s always worked fine for me. I just now tried it on at its maximum and minimum measurements where the velcro grabs securely and I?d say the max waist where it would work is about 37 and the minimum is about 32, maybe 31. This is using the belt exactly as I received it, with no adjustments or alterations. I hope this helps.
